The short version

Yuhu is a games app, not a data business. Hosts sign in with Google or Apple so a room has one owner; friends join with just a display name. Rooms and everything played in them are deleted automatically once the room goes quiet. We never sell your data.

Who we are

Yuhu is run by Kaira One, a business based in Bengaluru, India. Write to hello@yuhu.games about anything on this page. The same address reaches our grievance officer under India's data protection law: we reply within 48 hours and resolve requests within 30 days.

What we collect

Hosts — when you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name and email address, and a profile picture where the provider sends one. We use them to identify your account and prefill your display name. We never see your password.
Guests — joining a room needs only a display name you type. No account and no email. We also get a random device id, so you can rejoin.
Gameplay — rooms, moves, guesses and scores exist so the game works, and are deleted within about an hour of everyone leaving. We keep a count of each host's AI requests for 90 days, and daily play totals with no names for about a year.

What stays on your device

Some things are saved on your phone or in your browser: a random device id that lets you rejoin a room, the rooms you were in last, the name you used, your sound and light or dark choice, and a host's sign-in. The device id and name are sent to us when you join a room, so the room knows who you are. Private marks, like the numbers you tick on a Tambola ticket, stay on your device until you claim a win. The app needs these to work, so there is no cookie banner.

Ads

We may show ads in the future. We may sell ad space ourselves, or use an ad network such as Google AdSense. An ad network may use cookies or device ids to show and measure ads. Where the law requires, we ask you first. We never give advertisers your name or email, and we never show personalised ads to anyone we know is under 18.

Analytics

We count visits with Cloudflare's web analytics, which uses no cookies and builds no profile. We may later use a product analytics tool, such as PostHog, to see which screens and games people use. It would use a random id, not your name. Where the law requires, we will ask first.

What we don't do

We never sell or rent your data. We never give your name or email to anyone for marketing.
We don't read your games. Names and guesses you type are shown to your room and deleted with it.

AI-written questions

When a host asks for trivia on a topic, we send the topic, the difficulty and the number of questions to an AI service that writes them. Today that is Google Gemini, with DeepSeek as a backup. No name, email or account goes with it. Please don't type personal details into a topic. The questions are deleted with the room.

Who processes data for us

These companies help us run the service. Convex stores our database, in the US. Cloudflare hosts the website, counts visits, runs the live game connection and forwards our email. Google and Apple handle host sign-in. Google Gemini and DeepSeek write AI trivia.

Data outside India

We are in India. Our providers store data in the US and other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on their standard contract terms to protect it.

Why we use your data, and your rights

We use your data to run the games and your account, to keep the service safe from abuse, and to email the waitlist with your OK. You can ask to see, fix, download or delete your data, or object to how we use it, and you can take back your OK at any time. Write to hello@yuhu.games. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your data protection authority, or in India to the Data Protection Board.

Retention and deletion

Game data is short-lived by design: rooms, players and game history are deleted within about an hour of a room going quiet. Host accounts stay so you can host again. To delete yours, write to hello@yuhu.games: we delete your name, email and picture within 30 days.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we keep the email you give us, and only to tell you when rooms open and when new games land. We may use an email service to send it, and every email has a link to leave the list. We never share it or sell it, and we delete the list once we no longer need it. Want off sooner? Email hello@yuhu.games.

The contact page

The contact page stores nothing: it opens your own email app with the message written out, and you send it. Our inbox runs through Cloudflare and Google. We hold your email, and whatever you chose to put in it, for as long as it takes to answer you.

Children

The service is not made for children under 13, and hosting needs a Google or Apple account. If you're under 18, play with a parent's or guardian's OK. We collect no more than a display name from guests. If you think a child gave us personal data, write to us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data travels encrypted, and only we can reach the database. No system is perfect. If a breach puts your data at risk, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we update this page and the date at the top. Before a big change, like starting ads or analytics, we tell hosts in the app or by email.
